Optimal Diving Club thanks the Markham Recreation Services Team for their continued support of our club operating from Markham Centennial Community Center pool. Our club has been providing a great service to the community with our accessible and affordable learn-to-dive program for those who want to enjoy diving for recreation while our competitive team has been setting a good example to look up to for those who want to push their limits and compete.

In the past year alone we have trained over a hundred learn-to-dive and pre-competitive students. In the 2015-2016 competitive season our competitive team participated in over a dozen of provincial, national and international diving meets winning medals in multiple different age groups and events. Last week was particularly exciting for us as one of our divers claimed a national title winning gold and silver on 3M and 1M springboards, respectively, at the Canadian National Junior Elite Championship in Winnipeg. He made the national team and will now compete for Canada in the World Junior Diving Championship in December later this year.

These amazing results would not have been possible without the support of Markham Recreation Services Team. Our special thanks go to our maintenance manager Alex Giammarco for having the 3M board pressure-washed just in time for the two weeks preceding the national championship - it did make a difference!
